Tulsi tea is made from the leaves and blossoms of the revered Ocimum Tenuiflorum plant. It is brewed in the same way you would prepare a cup of black, white, green or oolong tea. Some people brew Ocimum Sanctum using tea bags and others prefer loose leaf tea. We generally recommend loose leaf tea, because it provides a higher quality brew and multiple tulsi infusions. Some people also consume a holy basil extract so they don't have to drink it. There are many herbal formulations and wellness infusions designed to help extract the maximum benefits of the holy basil leaf.

  • Tulsi itself has its own health benefits . Tulsi can even be added to any kind of tea. I personally feel tulsi added with herbal and organic green teas (like – healthbuddy organic green tea) would enhance its healthcare benefits much more.

  • I make super strong tulsi cold brews overnight in my fridge with fresh ginger and lemon added in. It’s changed my life I’m telling you. It’s strong enough to be considered a tonic in my opinion so I keep it for a few days on hand to drink throughout the day. Sometimes I add some sparkling mineral water in my glass to cut it if it’s a really strong brew. Even if you don’t make it super strong, cold brewing ensures you keep all of the medicinal benefits of the tulsi in tact!

  • Hi Nisha,
Herbal tea is actually not really tea at all. It is simply one or more herbs combined together and brewed like tea. These are non caffeinated as well, unless something like green or black tea has been added. Here is more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbal_tea
